For the fourth consecutive year the Firm sponsored a barbecue dinner at the Muscular Dystrophy Association summer camp in Brandon, Florida. A team of attorneys from the Firm manned the serving line and dished out a delicious meal of barbecued pork and chicken from Kojak's Restaurant. NFL star Fred Smoot joined the firm's attorneys in serving dinner and enjoying the fellowship with the campers and their counselors.
The Muscular Dystrophy Association is a voluntary health agency - a dedicated partnership between scientists and concerned citizens aimed at conquering neuromuscular diseases that affect more than one million Americans. MDA combats neuromuscular diseases through programs of worldwide research, comprehensive medical and community services, and far-reaching professional and public health education.
The MDA summer camps have been a tradition since 1955. In addition to camp staff and medical personnel, each camper has his own one-on-one volunteer who helps with aspects of both fun and personal care. The camps provide a wide range of activities specially designed for individuals who have limited mobility or use wheelchairs. Activities range from outdoor sports to less physically demanding programs like arts and crafts and talent shows.
